The Ladislav Trakal Foundation was established in 2020 following the publication of the first monograph devoted to the artist and the opening of a major retrospective exhibition in Kharkiv. Founded by art historian Yakov Skulskyi, the Foundation serves as the principal international research centre dedicated exclusively to the study, documentation and preservation of Trakal’s legacy.

Its work includes archival and provenance research, documentation of known works, identification of lost and previously unknown works, preparation of scholarly publications and catalogues, authentication research, and cooperation with museums, archives, libraries, universities, collectors, auction houses and other art professionals.

The Foundation maintains a significant collection of works and an expanding documentary and research archive. Through research, exhibitions and international cooperation, it seeks to restore Ladislav Trakal’s rightful place in Ukrainian, Czech and European art history.
