The edition is dedicated to the life and works of the outstanding artist and teacher, Ladislav Josef Trakal (1873-1951). He can be considered a cult figure in the context of cultural and artistic life in Ukraine and the Czech Republic, however until recently, there was extremely few evidence about his life and works both of Kharkiv and Prague periods. The monograph for the first time presents capacious documentary, archival, artistic and biographical material collected by the author. A new local lore fact was introduced into scientific usage, an imaginative and stylistic analysis of the creative heritage of the artist was conducted. The edition is intended for specialists in the field of culture and art, as well as for the circle of readers interested in information concerning cultural and artistic life of Ukraine and the Czech Republic of the last third of the XIX – first third of the XX centuries.
